Being From Brewster
Growing up in Brewster means always playing sports, at least it did for my sisters and me. We grew up watching my dad and uncles play soccer, playing t-ball as soon as we could hold a bat, shooting little basketballs into our parents arms at the hoop. My parents always talk about walking into the basketball state tournament with 5 year old, a 4 year old and a 1 year old and before they knew it they were walking in to watch us play. Being in Brewster you are kind of expected to play sports, but I didn't play sport because I "needed to," I did it because I enjoyed it, it gave me some of the best friendships I could ever hope to have. It taught me important life lessons about working hard and being humble and many other things. I'm lucky to have parents and a community that support me.
